Special Issue on National Scenarios for the mitigation of climate change

National scenarios are essential inputs to national decision making as countries develop strategies and policies to reduce emissions while meeting other priority economic and societal goals. This special issue provides a venue for research teams and authors — particularly those leading national efforts — to document national scenario work from subnational, national, regional, and global models.

The special issue provides a platform to amplify voices from emerging and developing economies, enabling them to document their respective modeling efforts, evaluate national and regional scenarios, and publish their national databases. Additionally, this special issue encourages scenarios that addresses broader economic and societal issues fundamental to effective national transitions, including, for example, interactions with the macroeconomy, households, political economy, employment, just transitions, and finance at national, subnational and sectoral level.
