Roberto SCHAEFFER
During the Thirteenth IAMC Annual Meeting held online last 1-4 December 2020, the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium was proud to honour Roberto Schaeffer (COPPE) with the Extraordinary Contributions to the field of Integrated Assessment Modeling Award.
Roberto Schaeffer has played key roles in developing IAMs and in making the link between global IAMs and national IAM analysis, not only those for high-income countries but for major developing countries as well.
He has also significantly contributed to the IAM community e.g. in his role as CLA of Chapter 3 in the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report, and membership on the SSC of the IAMC.
Finally, through his tireless efforts to expand Integrated Assessment Modeling in Latin America, Roberto has personally played a central role in expanding the IAM community beyond Europe and the USA.
In all these ways Roberto Schaeffer has made extraordinary contributions to integrated assessment modeling.
