IIASA researchers develop an open-source Python package for IAM scenario analysis and visualization
The open-source python package pyam provides a range of diagnostic tools and functions for analyzing and visualizing scenarios from your favorite integrated-assessment model(s). The package was initiated by Matthew Gidden and Daniel Huppmann at the IIASA Energy Program under the auspices of the IAMC. The first applications using the package were in support of the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C (SR15, see a suite of Jupyter notebooks on GitHub) and the Horizon 2020 CRESCENDO project (cf. Gidden et al., 2019).
We do hope that this package will prove useful for many members of the integrated-assessment community for analysing and exploring climate-change mitigation scenarios! Sign up to our mailing list on groups.io to stay up to date or to ask questions!
