Position of Senior Economist/Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modeller at OECD in Paris, France
The Environment and Economy Integration (EEI) Division of the OECD currently has an opening for a Senior Economist/CGE Modeller to conduct quantitative analyses examining the interface between environment, energy and the economy, and to contribute to the coordination of the Modelling and Outlooks team.
The selected candidate will:
- Play a lead role in further development of the OECD Environment Directorate (ENV)-Linkages global computable general equilibrium (CGE) model and related quantitative frameworks, including looking at the intricate links between economic activities and changes in environmental outcomes and variables.
- Oversee the maintenance and expansion of databases over time to support and future develop this framework and carry out appropriate model calibrations.
- Lead model based long-term scenario analyses of important policy issues relevant to the work of the Environment Directorate, including periodic OECD Environmental Outlooks and/or projects on the economic and social implications of environmental challenges and the impacts of policies to tackle these challenges.
- Ensure quality control for the analytical outputs.
- Conceptualise projects, conducting model simulations and interpret results to generate insightful reports.
- Draft reports, present material, and contribute to briefings for senior management,
Further responsibilities involve planning, supervision, fundraising, organisation-wide collaboration, liaison and outreach.
