Who gets what in climate mitigation scenarios?
Politicians care a lot about the distribution of burdens and benefits, but mitigation scenarios rarely make distributional assumptions explicit. An interdisciplinary team at IIASA developed an approach to assess distributional outcomes and develop scenario narratives aligned with different justice principles. The new method is simple to apply and adaptable across modelling frameworks.
