IAMC Webinar: New insights on adaptation pathways and scenarios
March 18, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The scope of modelling of climate change impacts and strategies to reduce them through adaptation, including in Integrated Assessment Models, is limited due to gaps in understanding of what level of adaptation could take place and where, which actors need to adapt and over what timeframe, current and future constraints and limits to adaptation, and so forth. In February 2025, the workshop “Adaptation pathways and scenarios for climate change research” gathered interdisciplinary and diverse experts to collaboratively design tools to help close these knowledge gaps.
The workshop set out to develop outlines of adaptation pathways embedded in the into the SSP/RCP framework. This is meant to facilitate comparing (quantitative) adaptation research across different modeling groups and the synthesis of information for the 7th assessment cycle of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
In this Webinar, Marina Andrijevic will present the outcomes of the workshop in the context of the paper “Towards scenarios of adaptive capacity for climate impact research”, for which she won the IAMC Early Career Researcher Award 2024.
Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Time: 15:00 CET/Vienna time
