DEEDS (Dialogue on European Decarbonisation Strategies) is a project implemented by a consortium of fifteen leading European research institutions, industry and civil society organisations, funded by the European Commission and it aimed to support the European Decarbonisation Pathways Initiative (EDPI) and its High-Level Panel through creating state-of-the art knowledge on decarbonisation pathways, facilitating a dialogue with and creating a network of leading scientists and a knowledge base of relevant research projects on European decarbonisation pathways.
The plan to do so consisted firstly in developing a solid knowledge base and synthesizing six Decarbonisation Pathways documents for important sectors of the European economy, then secondly in organizing a stakeholder dialogue for knowledge assessment, and co-creating policies and strategies with policy makers, business representatives, NGO’s and other stakeholders and finally in producing six policy briefs with recommendations and a Business Guide for decarbonisation in Europe (by WBCSD). The project was supported by a targeted communication and dissemination approach that created outreach through traditional media (e.g. website, factsheets, brochures, and through social media, short video clips and blog articles.
