Call for scenarios by the EU Climate Advisory Board
The European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change invites the wider research community to submit emissions scenario data that can support its work in advising the EU on policy measures, climate targets and greenhouse gas budgets.
Similar to the process for the IPCC AR6 WG3, the EU Advisory Board seeks to compile a scenario ensemble (aka database) of emissions scenarios relevant for its task to provide advice on targets and indicative budgets for EU greenhouse gas emissions in the 2030-2050 period and to support the assessment of progress towards the objectives of the European Climate Law.
For more information, visit the Call for scenario data contributions web page.
The IIASA Scenario Services team is in the process of setting up a new Scenario Explorer instance where any research institution and modelling team can submit their scenario data for consideration in the analysis by the Advisory Board. The submission portal is already available.
Details on the variable template and list of regions will be available on that page shortly. Please reach out to eu-climate-advisory-board-support@iiasa.ac.at if you want to register your model for scenario submission or if you want to transfer scenarios from one IIASA Scenario Explorer to this new project.
The deadline for scenario submission is October 16 – apologies for the very short notice, but the policy process is steaming ahead and it is urgent that the Advisory Board can use the latest, most up-to-date scenarios in their analysis.
