Workshop on Climate Information for Risk Assessment and Regional Adaptation from Global Scale Climate Projections to Local Scale Climate Hazards
The workshop, taking place on June 5th, 2023, at Kastler Lecture Hall (AGH), Trieste, and ending on June 9th, builds on the latest IPCC reports on climate change, impacts, risks and adaptation. It addresses regional climate information and the comprehensive assessment for adaptation planning and increasing risk resilience of society and ecosystems.
The workshop will include talks on hot topics, followed by afternoon hands on training sessions. It will introduce the WGI Interactive Atlas to explore the datasets assessed in the report, including exploring in a tailor-made way the syntheses of regional climate information. Communications and visual representation of regional climate, impacts and risk will be addressed, including how to generate key figures from the IPCC assessment reports.
Topics:
- Climatic impact drivers and risk framework
- Adaptation pathways, socio-economic scenarios
- Heat and Human health
- Ecosystem and biodiversity
- Sea level rise, coastal hazards and risk
- Water availability
- Agriculture and land use
- Interactive Atlas
- Communication and Visualisation training
