IIASA webinar: Climate Solutions Explorer (CSE) Launch
On July 12th, from 1300-1400 CET, the Climate Solutions Explorer (CSE) website will be officially launched with a public webinar. The new website is designed to provide latest information on climate mitigation and climate impacts, and aims to be a comprehensive resource for individuals, businesses, and policymakers looking to use some of the latest data from research on climate impacts and net zero mitigation pathways. The CSE website features a range of content, including and interactive map of climate change impacts, national and regional data dashboards of impacts and mitigation pathways, and interactive articles on a range of climate topics and countries.
The webinar will feature a panel of international experts who will discuss their involvement in development of content for the website. The panelists for the webinar include:
- Ed Byers and Mia Werning, climate researchers from IIASA who led the development
- Zoi Vrontisi, Senior researcher at E3Modelling, Greece
- Saritha Vishwanathan, Researcher at IIMA, India
- Mariana Imperio, Postdoctoral researcher, COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
They will share their insights for their countries and specific topics of interest, such as: air quality benefits of climate mitigation in Brazil; employment opportunities in net zero Europe, and water dependency of the electricity sector in India.
“The webinar showcases some of the key research and data on climate mitigation and impacts, which has been developed over four years from 30 international partners in the ENGAGE research project” highlighted by Edward Byers, coordinator of the website. “The webinar will demonstrate the key features of how Climate Solutions Explorer can be used, how the data has been generated, and key insights on the latest research on net zero transitions and their associated benefits and challenges.”
The webinar will include a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the experts. The webinar is open to the public, and anyone interested in learning more about how to use emissions and climate modelling results in their work or for learning is encouraged to attend.
