Division Director position at the Joint Global Change Research Institute (JGCRI), a partnership between the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the University of Maryland (UMD)
JGCRI has been raised to the level of a research division within PNNL’s Earth and Biological Systems Directorate. The JGCRI division director will supervise a world-class team of ~70 researchers. The division director will manage steady growth at JGCRI, lead the strategic direction, and serve as chief spokesperson and advocate for work within PNNL, the Department of Energy, UMD, and other stakeholders, sponsors, and research communities.
We are searching for a top candidate to lead the JGCRI as its division director and build on the Institute’s leadership in interdisciplinary research, modeling, and integrated analyses at the interface of human, energy, and environmental systems. Our JGCRI staff has developed the Global Change Analysis Model (GCAM) and provides science-based information to key global climate discussions. JGCRI research advances our fundamental understanding of human and Earth systems and provides decision-relevant information for management of emerging global risks and opportunities.
