Two new members join IAMC
The Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium welcomes two new Members starting March 2023:
King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) is an advisory think tank within global energy economics and sustainability providing services to entities and authorities in the Saudi energy sector. Based in Riyadh, KAPSARC combines human ingenuity, expertise, and research to solve pressing global energy challenges. Through advisory services to the energy ecosystem, KAPSARC’s experts provide actionable insights and data using a multidisciplinary approach to drive long-term value and deliver tangible results at scale. Under its climate and sustainability program, KAPSARC offers advisory services to support the Kingdom in achieving its climate and sustainability targets including the net-zero emission target and the Paris Agreement commitments; (2) develops and applies state-of-the-art national, regional, and global climate-energy-economic modeling capabilities to serve the needs of the energy ecosystem; and (3) produces and disseminates cutting-edge data, insights, and analyses in the areas of climate economics, climate change policies, and environmental sustainability through peer-reviewed research publications and outreach activities.
ITRI-GEL, the research arm of the Industrial Technology Research Institute focused on green energy and environment, plays a crucial role in assisting the government with the development of the 2050 net-zero pathway. With a comprehensive approach that encompasses supply, demand, manufacturing, environment, and policy, ITRI-GEL is dedicated to advancing net-zero emission strategies by using integrated assessment models. The Taiwan Net Zero Innovation Map for Industry, developed by ITRI-GEL, provides up-to-date information on net-zero initiatives, the 2030 technology development strategy and target, and the twelve key strategies for achieving Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero goal. By creating a circular ecosystem, streamlining production processes, and exploring green energy sources, a sustainable environment can be maintained. ITRI-GEL is committed to utilizing its resources to develop novel green energy and environment technologies to create a better future.
