The last monthly meeting of the IAMC Scientific Steering Committee meeting (SSC) took place on March 28th, 2022.

The focus was the format of this year’s Annual Meeting (November 28th – December 2nd). Suggestions received by the IAMC Advisory and by the IAMC Community through a survey on preferences on the event format were discussed. Options for a hybrid event were outlined. The ideal hybrid form should ensure the inclusion of those who don’t have a travel budget or feel that in-person events are not sustainable, give those who wish to attend in person the opportunity to do so, allow sufficient space for discussion, accommodate those who find it difficult to attend due to time zones differences, minimise the financial risk of organising the event. The SSC is aware that we are still in a transitional phase towards a new event model which we still need to experiment with, and that through a learning process that will build up year by year we will be able to find a model that is increasingly responsive to the needs of the Consortium.
